22 faces of the permian basin | hometownmedia.group Addiction affects every family in the Permian Basin whether directly or indirectly. It touches every industry, every income level. And when we help someone recover, we strengthen our whole region. If you care about the future of the Permian Basin, you need to care about recovery. Every life in recovery is one less drunk individual behind the wheel of car, it’s one less fatality on the side of the road, it’s one less desperate individual willing to do whatever it takes to get enough cash for their next fix. Each person they treat helps our community become a safer place for families and children. Thank you for helping Heal Lives and Restore Families. Together, we are making a difference. Springboard Center is the Permian Basin’s premier alcohol and drug treatment center. They deliver hope with accountability. It’s medically sound, spiritually grounded, and built around measurable results. They don’t just say someone’s doing better, they track it. Cravings go down. Completion rates go up. And their staff genuinely cares. They show up, even on hard days. That level of heart, backed by hard data, is rare. Being a nonprofit means their focus is on people, not profit. It allows them to keep treatment fees far lower than most private centers while still offering best-in-class care. But they can’t do it alone. It’s their donors who make the difference—who make sure cost never stands in the way of someone getting help. Your gift to Springboard doesn’t just help someone recover—it helps a whole family heal. Provided by Springboard Center Springboard CENTER DONATE TODAY

What inspired you to get involved with The Springboard Center? Recovery from addiction is very personal to me. That alone makes it very hard to stand by when I see so many lives in our community being torn apart by addiction: mothers, fathers, neighbors. I wanted to be part of something that actually moved the needle. Springboard doesn’t just treat addiction; it integrates folks into the local recovery community and helps them rebuild their lives. When someone finds sobriety here, you’re not just saving one life. You’re restoring a family. That’s what called me to serve. As Chairman, you’ve had a front-row seat to some powerful transformations. What sticks with you the most? It is very inspiring to watch all the second chances. The dad who’s back coaching Little League. The mom who’s tucking her kids in again after years away. I’ve watched employees walk back into their jobs and make it right. That’s the miracle of Springboard, people come in from all walks of life broken, and you get to watch them pick up the pieces, own their story, and start fresh. I get to see grace in action. What do you think the Permian Basin community often overlooks when it comes to addiction? We sometimes treat addiction like a moral failure when it’s really a medical condition and a community issue. Addiction fuels crime, tears up families, and impacts the workforce. But recovery spreads. When someone gets clean, you don’t just help them, you help their kids, their employer, their church, their neighborhood. That’s why Springboard matters. It’s not just about treatment, it’s about healing the whole ecosystem. What would you say to someone struggling right now or to a family watching a loved one battle addiction? Don’t wait. Don’t try to do it alone. Springboard is here. This disease thrives in silence and isolation. But the minute you take that first step, whether it’s calling for help or showing up for detox, you’re not alone anymore. We believe people can change. We’ve seen it. Go Red for Women is nationally sponsored by CVS Health and supported locally by Medical Center Health System, Odessa Marriott and Bryant Family Foundation. Meanwhile, the Association launched telehealth “health hubs” in libraries across Jeff Davis, Reeves and Hockley counties, where hypertension rates exceed 30%. THE FACE OF What makes you and your business unique from competitors? NADA Wax is the first and only full-body waxing and after-wax skincare salon in the Permian Basin. What truly sets us apart is that we don’t just focus on services, we focus on education, skin health, and the overall experience. After-wax care is just as important as the service itself, and we’ve built our business around treating the skin with intention, knowledge, and respect. Our clients aren’t just coming in for a service; they trust us with their skin, and we take that responsibility seriously. Why are you passionate about this industry? Our passion goes far beyond beauty services. We wanted to create a workplace where women feel empowered, supported, and genuinely valued. At NADA Wax, we blend the creativity and flexibility of the beauty industry with the structure and stability typically found in the corporate world, without the rigidity. We believe when women are given real opportunity, clear growth, and are rewarded for their effort and commitment, they thrive. When our team feels appreciated and secure, they naturally give their best to the clients we serve. Building that kind of environment — one that supports both personal growth and professional success — is what drives us every day. What keeps you motivated when things get hard? Our faith. God is our source and our foundation. This is a faith-based business, and we truly believe He leads the decisions made here. When things get hard — and they do — we lean into obedience and trust rather than fear. Our goal is to be obedient, to lead with integrity, and to allow God to guide both personal life and business. That perspective keeps us grounded, focused, and motivated even through the challenges. That vision has guided the Permian Basin Reability Center for more than 70 years. Founded in 1953, the Reability Center delivers personalized physical, occupational, and speech therapy, along with audiology services, to children and adults from 34 counties across the Permian Basin. Our patients navigate challenges including autism, stroke, traumatic brain injury, developmental delays, hearing loss, and life-altering accidents. Through one-on-one, compassionate care, each therapy session helps open doors to greater independence and renewed hope. In 2025 alone, the Reability Center provided 18,587 lifechanging therapy sessions to more than 2,000 patients, each session a step toward brighter futures and stronger families. As a nonprofit, the Center works to ensure access to care for all. While insurance is billed when available, our Sponsorship Program bridges critical gaps by offering free evaluations, screenings, and consultations for NICU graduates, children with cleft palate diagnoses, individuals with disabilities affecting behavior, and uninsured or underinsured patients in need of therapy. Together, we are restoring ability, and transforming lives, across the Permian Basin. Want to get involved? Visit www.pbreability.org.

THE FACE OF What makes you and your business unique from competitors? My background as a teacher laid the foundation for how I connect with others, particularly children. I’ve always been drawn to the honesty, energy, and unfiltered joy of children, which brings a natural, genuine feel to every session. I try to foster a warm, encouraging environment where kids feel at ease, allowing them to be fully themselves and letting their true personalities shine through. Why are you passionate about this industry? I’m passionate about this industry because I genuinely love people and the relationships that grow from working closely with others. Photography allows me to connect on a personal level while creating meaningful memories that will be cherished for generations. Knowing that these images become part of a person’s story, something they return to year after year, is incredibly fulfilling to me. Share with us some words of wisdom. Some of the best advice I’ve ever received came from my parents. My mom always reminded me to “reach for the stars” and believe in what’s possible, while my dad taught me “not to sweat the small stuff” and keep life in perspective. I carry both of their words with me every day, dreaming big while staying grounded in what truly matters. At 3:11, our mission is to bless these local kids with a little childhood magic, while meeting their basic needs in practical ways. Our unique Perfect PROMise program provides donated prom dresses to students free-ofcharge. 3:11 Christmas annually fills the wish lists of hundreds of local school children, taking a burden from parents struggling to make ends meet.
